Timeless chain designs that never go out of style

There are also trends in jewelry. The world of precious metals and jewelry is not as dynamic as the fashion industry.

But in the shop windows of today's jewelry, there are pieces very different from those of the change of the millennium or the eighties. On the one hand, these trends affect materials.

Rose gold and platinum are viral today, while yellow gold was the most sought-after precious metal in the past. On the other hand, they also affect the design, which is sometimes more straightforward and more sophisticated. But there are also simply timeless jewels. The following chain models have enjoyed great popularity for decades, if not centuries.

Locket Necklaces

It is not for nothing that a chain with a locket plays a role repeatedly in cinema and literature. Like the zodiac chain, the locket chain has a special meaning for the wearer. Usually, inside there is a photo of family members or another loved one. The locket has a special place and is always close to the heart, a romantic idea that attracts people of all generations.

Pearls necklaces

The pearl necklace is also a timeless jewel. In ancient Rome, it was as coveted as it was expensive, and pearls were believed to be one of the reasons Julius Caesar conquered Britain. Today, thanks to modern cultivation methods, the pearl necklace has become significantly cheaper. Nonetheless, it is still considered by many to be the epitome of simple beauty and elegance. The classics are round and white pearls, while irregular or colored pearls usually appear as a fashion.

Snake chains

Snake chains are exceptionally flexible and typically female. With this type of chain, the material is laboriously brought into an ultra-fine shape so that the individual links of the chain blend perfectly with each other. This makes the chain of snakes appear pretty massive, but at the same time, it is lightweight. It gets its name because it behaves like the body of a snake when it moves between the fingers. Snake chains can be worn with a pendant or on their own.

Foxtail Chains

The foxtail chain also has a long tradition. Archaeologists date the earliest finds of this gem to an age of around 4,500 years. This type of chain consists of eyelets woven together without a gap. In this logic, it is similar to the snake chain, but it is much more massive. It is very robust and highly agile and adapts well to a trailer. However, it is also less elegant than other types of necklaces.

Venetian chains

While round shapes dominate most species, the Venetian chain consists of square links. As the name suggests, this type of necklet comes from Italy, probably in the early 19th century. Despite the angular elements, the Venetian necklace is exquisite, but it stands out from other types of chains. It owes its continued popularity to this uniqueness.
