Young textile designers showcase their works at Suvyan 2023

 


The Northern India Institute of Fashion Technology's fabric layout graduates showcased their collections on the annual Suvyan 2023 exhibition in Chandigarh, with 5 students receiving awards for their paintings. The event saw works from college students who spent 5 months operating along commercial clients, with a variety of tendencies and strategies on show, consisting of digital printing and the use of upcycled fabrics. Principal Poonam Aggarwal Thakur said students had worked to international standards, whilst Shweta Sharma, path coordinator, stated the occasion became a "big platform" for students.

The graduating college students of the textile design department of the Northern India Institute of Fashion Technology (NIIFT), Mohali, a Punjab authorities initiative, showcased their layout collections in the course of the once a year Suvyan 2023 exhibition in Chandigarh on Thursday.

The college students had been felicitated with the Textile Design Awards. Ishika Raheja bagged the Best Design Collection award, Khushi Garg the Most Innovative Collection award, Muskan Raj the Most Commercial Collection award, Shweta Rani the Special Jury Award, and Ashutosh Jha the Best Design Methodology award.

A variety of the today's layout tendencies are on display on the exhibition. Awardees Ishika offered Chikankari, Didri art, and Suzani; Khushi explored hand works of art and used virtual print strategies for domestic furnishing series; Muskan worked on Badamwari, Parsi Gara embroidery and Phulkari; Shweta on subject matters of fall nature, Easter and Thanksgiving; Ashutosh worked with digital revealed clothing, and textures and baggage with upcycled fabrics.

Graduating scholar Prachi Chanchal, whose works also are on show, says, “I got here up with three collections all through my internship. The issues of those collections are Art Deco, The Hidden Essence, and Desert Dreamer. I even have used Scandinavian and Boho aesthetics in those collections and the colors that I suppose suit my character.”

Principal Poonam Aggarwal Thakur says, “Students have labored difficult to perform the task in line with the worldwide textile industry standards. Each pupil worked with an business customer for five months which brought about the development in their character collections which can be on display right here.”

“We educate our students nicely to face the struggles of this ever-changing industry. During the internship, relying on the thematic and consumer requirement, our students labored on more than one initiatives and forty two of our students underwent commercial training,” she says.

Her recommendation to those looking to enter the sphere is to broaden their worldview and study all possible avenues that are at once in keeping with their man or woman innovative flair.

“The event is fantastic as college students put their heart and soul into growing lovely pieces of labor which can be in the long run recognized by the industry,” says Shweta Sharma, course coordinator, fabric layout department.

Charandeep Singh, PCS, director NIIFT, says, “Suvyan is a large platform for students. I congratulate the scholars for his or her marketplace-orientated paintings.”
